M/s Beauty Products paid 18% GST on cosmetics worth ₹ 6000 and sold to a customer for ₹ 10,000. What are the amounts of CGST and SGST shown in the tax invoice issued?

Given :
For tax invoice issued, Rate of GST = 18%, Taxable value of cosmetics = ₹10,000
To find : Amount of CGST and amounts of SGST shown in tax invoice

Sol.
(i)  GST payable = 18% of ₹10,000

                           = \({18\over 100} × 10000 \)

                           =  ₹1800

(ii) We know that,
     CGST and SGST amounts is similar for the article and GST amount is divided into two equal parts for it.

∴       CGST amount   = \(1800\over 2\)

                                    = ₹900

     and SGST amount = \(1800\over 2\)

                                    = ₹900
Ans. The amount of CGST and SGST shown in the tax invoice issued is ₹900 each.
